OUR MISSION – A Legacy of Leadership & Service
Since 1968, REMBI has been committed to advancing professional real estate management among brokers, property managers, and housing advocates — particularly focusing on underserved housing stock, community-based development, and equitable housing access. As an affiliate of NAREB, we recognized early on the critical need to build capacity for managing subsidized rental housing, urban redevelopment properties and mixed‑income portfolios. Founding members from across the country (Chicago, Los Angeles, Cleveland, Washington , DC, Atlanta) launched REMBI to fill this gap. Today we continue that mission by providing training, certification, and professional development to real estate professionals who serve communities, manage complex property portfolios and lead purposeful housing initiatives.

Chairman
Wiley Sturns is a respected leader and visionary in the real estate industry, bringing decades of experience in property management, business development, and community advocacy. As Chairman of the Real Estate Management Brokers Institute (REMBI), he champions professional education, ethical standards, and minority inclusion in real estate leadership. A dedicated mentor and strategic advisor, Mr. Sturns has played a pivotal role in developing national initiatives that uplift underserved communities and expand opportunities for real estate professionals. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to service, empowerment, and excellence in the real estate field.
PRESIDENT
Lionel Bohanon is an accomplished real estate professional and dedicated advocate for equitable housing and professional development. As President of REMBI, he leads initiatives that elevate property management standards, expand educational opportunities, and strengthen member engagement nationwide. With years of leadership experience in real estate organizations, including service as Regional Vice President of the Nevada Association of Real Estate Brokers, Lionel champions collaboration, training, and advocacy to empower professionals and improve housing outcomes. His vision for REMBI focuses on innovation, accessibility, and building a stronger future for the industry.
